A new line of Pepsi colas made with real fruit juice helped Pepsico to beat Wall Street’s expectations for the second quarter.
Growing demand for snacks and fizzy drinks in North America offset a comparably sluggish performance outside the region, including in Europe.
Ramon Laguarta, chief executive, said that smaller cans of fizzy drinks were proving popular. “I think this is going to be a long-term consumer trend, ” he said. Mr Laguarta, 55, said that the company planned to launch smaller cans of its Bubly sparkling water.
